After extensive renovations, we are excited to open
our first butchers shop. Based in the old post office,
on Debenhams’ high street, the shop opened back in
November 2017 just in time for a manic Christmas.
Where possible we source locally, direct from the
farmer. We offer free range pork, beef and lamb as
well as free range chicken from ‘Hog and Hen’, and
Sutton Hoo and Suffolk barn reared chicken. We aim
to dry age all of our beef on the bone, to help boost
the beautiful flavour and eating quality. Some of our
main suppliers are Bocking Hall Beef in Helmingham
and Stonham Herd Redpoll. Small producers who
strive for the high welfare and quality of their animals.
We also cure and smoke all of our own award-winning
bacon, gammons and hams, and have a selection of
home cooked meats in the deli counter.
Along with the cooked meats we also have cured
salami, coppa and other charcuterie as well as a wide
range of local cheeses.
Away from the meat side of things the shelves are
stocked with a selection of chutneys, jams, chilli
sauces, dressings, crisps, snacks and scratchings as
well as chocolate and sweets. All of the products were
sourced based on the quality of the product and the
fact that you won’t find the majority of these items on
the supermarket shelves.
We stock a wide range of beers from local microbreweries,
and have an exciting selection of gins.
One of our favourite features is the Milk dispensing
machine. Funded by a Kickstarter campaign, we
wanted to be able to bring people a fully traceable
milk, fresh from the farm. Our milk is supplied by
Suffolk Farmhouse Cheeses from their herd of
Guernsey and Jersey cows. These breeds produce
the richest milk and it has that beautiful creamy top.
It can be filled into our reusable glass bottles straight
from the machine.
